Fitting, balancing, storage — for summer, for winter, and for the alloy wheels we fitted for you in the first place.
The changeover comes round twice a year. We fit, balance, check the valves and — where fitted — the sensors of the tyre pressure monitoring system. Those sensors are wear parts: their battery lasts a few years, after which they stop reporting and the warning light stays on.
At every changeover we measure tread depth and age. Swiss law requires a minimum of 1.6 millimetres. Specialists, however, advise replacing summer tyres at around 3 millimetres and winter tyres at around 4: grip on a wet road and in snow drops off considerably earlier than the legal limit suggests.
The wheels you are not driving can stay with us. They are cleaned, labelled and stored — which saves space at home and suits the tyres, which age better somewhere warm and dark than on the driveway.
