Outside, it is about more than washing: over the years paint picks up fine scratches and deposits that leave it looking dull. We work the surface up gently and then seal it, so dirt and water find less to hold on to. Wheels and wheel arches are part of the job — that is where most of it collects.
Inside, it is the turn of upholstery, carpets, trim and glass. The inside of the windscreen in particular is often forgotten, and it is the reason oncoming headlights dazzle at night.
Before a sale, detailing pays for itself. The first impression is made in the photographs and in the first few seconds of the viewing — and it shows up in the price.
