The summons for the vehicle inspection comes from the road traffic office of your canton; the intervals depend on vehicle type and age. Turning up unprepared risks a re-inspection — with waiting time, a second appointment and extra cost.
Beforehand we work through the points that experience shows are the usual reasons for failure: braking performance, lights and headlight alignment, axle geometry, shock absorbers, exhaust system and emissions, tyres, corrosion on load-bearing parts. Anything that would be marked down, we put right before the examiner sees it.
Modified vehicles are a chapter of their own. Wheels, suspension, exhaust and body parts have to be approved and entered in the vehicle documents. We check whether the required reports and certificates of suitability exist for your parts, and obtain them if something is missing.
